About The Owner and Management

Heaven’s Best of Lancaster County is owned by JoAnn  and  Dan Dilts, and operated by Dan.  The business was originally  operated by husband/father Dave, who had worked as either a Safety or Environmental Engineer for over 20 years. After his last downsizing, he was ready to get involved in a business that 1) he would enjoy 2) he could manage for many years to come 3) could be built and left to his son. After discovering what an exceptional company Heaven’s Best Carpet Cleaning was, he and JoAnn visited an active franchise in Washington, D.C., were very impressed, studied all options and opportunities available and invested in the franchise.

Dave operated the franchise full-time, for the first two years, and had Dan assist as needed. All the hard work paid off

. Dan came aboard and became trained and certified. Together they  built a solid business and reputation within Lancaster County. As a professional team,  they concentrated on giving their Heaven’s Best customers the service and attention they deserve, personally, on a daily basis ( an honored  tradition carried on by Dan).  For health reasons, Dave was forced to withdraw from the daily operations, but maintains an active source of  information and advice.

In October, 2011. we asked Renee to join our team. Renee, a long-time friend and mother of 5, had just seen her last baby off to full time school, and was looking for a part time endeavor. She has learned our process quickly, and is a highly capable assistant to Dan. We are blessed to have her on board.

Dan &  JoAnn are the owners of the franchise. (Dave had leukemia in 1995 and figured that it might be more prudent to arrange ownership this way. Dave enjoys remission since 1996, but was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2009.) JoAnn  works as a staff accountant for a local CPA firm.  With Heaven’s Best, she manages the accounting, and is involved in virtually all aspects of the business.  JoAnn is trained and certified as well, a

nd works along with Dan and Renee on larger jobs.

Dave & JoAnn have lived in Lancaster County for  27 years now, in the same home in Landisville with their Cockapoo, Jack. With Jack just about 6, we know a little about cleaning carpets, tile, rugs and upholstery. Dan has lived in Lancaster city for the last 6 years.

Dave and JoAnn also have two daughters – Stef,  and Katie .  Stef is married and works as a geologist with a major oil company in Houston, TX.  Katie splits her time between Jackson Hole, WY, and Lancaster.
